British-Israel Research and Academic Exchange Partnership
(BIRAX)
The Britain-Israel Research and Academic Exchange
Partnership (BIRAX) is a new partnership programme, developed
by the British Council in collaboration with The Pears Foundation,
to enhance research and academic cooperation between the UK and
Israel. It was launched by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown
and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in July 2008.
BIRAX aims to support quality research collaborations and create
new institutional links between the two countries . Grants are
awarded to junior academics for the purpose of research and exchange
opportunities in exact and social sciences.
