Tzedek

The Pears Foundation funds the core costs of this UK based Jewish international development and educational charity.

Tzedek works with some of the poorest communities of the world providing direct backing for sustainable development projects, running volunteer programmes and promoting understanding of these issues in the Jewish community.

In a joint funding initiative with the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID), launched in June 2007, the Foundation is supporting Tzedek to provide development education in Jewish schools, youth movements and synagogues. The programme will increase awareness, knowledge and understanding of extreme poverty and sustainable development.
