The Schools Linking Network
The Pears Foundation is a founding partner of
the Schools Linking Network.
The Schools Linking Network supports local authorities across
the UK to establish sustainable and effective linking programmes,
giving thousands of pupils from diverse backgrounds the opportunity
to meet and learn together.
Set up in Bradford in 2002, the Schools Linking Project developed
a highly successful school linking model which was extended
to Tower Hamlets in 2006. The Pears Foundation, in partnership
with the Department for Children, Schools and Families, is
providing funding to enable the project to develop into a
national agency, delivering programmes across the UK.
The Network is working with local authorities to set up and
run school linking projects, and provide support, guidance
and training for teachers and local authority staff. It also
operates a website to enable schools to find partners online.
The Network was launched by Schools Minister Jim Knight on
3 October. Click
