Congratulations to our partner, the Trussell Trust, on their success at this year’s Charity Awards.
The Trussell Trust, a charity that runs a network of over 425 foodbanks, operating in over 1,200 distribution centres has not only won the top prize in the Social Care and Welfare category in 2016, but has also been chosen as the Overall Winner at this year’s ceremony.
Having supported the Trussell Trust Foodbank Network since 2007, Pears Foundation are very proud of the charity’s achievements and the work that they do. In the past year the foodbank network has helped to feed over 1 million people in crisis through their three days’ emergency food supply.
With a strong volunteering force of over 40,000 individuals, the Trussell Trust is also able to provide support that goes further than just the food. Volunteers at the different foodbanks support individuals living in their own communities by simply offering them a cup of tea, providing a friendly listening ear or through guidance about other support services that could help.
